WaterColor Beach Club Construction Update

Thursday, May 23, 2019

Dear Homeowners,

The WaterColor Board of Directors met Wednesday, May 22, with the general contractor for the Beach Club. During this meeting, the contractor presented a list of work that still needs to take place and some additional work to address unforeseen issues mostly related to the existing condition of the structure. It appears that 20 years on the Gulf has taken a toll on the structure that couldn’t be seen or found until remodeling started. Another impact to timeline, per the contractor, is the limited qualified labor resources starting last October.
Based on this information and after reviewing the budget versus timeline, the Board made a tough decision. They agreed it was in the best interest of the project and the budget to permit a change order extending construction on the first phase until June 28.

While the Beach Club may not be open, all other amenities are fully operational including the completed Camp WaterColor project, which offers food and beverage and fun for the entire family.

We understand this is not the best news to share prior to the holiday weekend. The Board is very frustrated with this news as well. The Board will continue to meet weekly to discuss the project and provide updates on its progress. Please feel free to join the weekly Board meeting in person if you are here or use the dial in number provided in your weekly newsletter.

Sincerely,

WaterColor Community Association
