[ARCHIVED] Portion of Goldenrod Circle to be Converted to One-Way Street/Additional LSV Parking to be Added

OneWayGoldenrod

A portion of Goldenrod Circle, between Park Row Lane North and Park Row Lane South, (shown highlighted by the yellow arrows in the graphic below) will be converted into a one-way only street. Within this portion of Goldenrod, additional parallel LSV parking spaces will be added on the South side of the street. The existing parallel parking pads on the opposite side of the street will remain as they are for regular sized vehicles.

The traffic pattern will remain the same in all other areas. The only impacted area is the area marked with the yellow arrows in the provided graphic.

The most important benefit of this change is increased safety.

The Walton County Fire Marshal stated he could close Goldenrod Circle if it continues to be narrowed by illegal parking, which is currently taking place. Illegally parked cars in this area prevents ingress/egress by emergency vehicles. Security has been focusing on this area but enforcement efforts have limited results because of the high traffic and constant turnover of renters/guests. This Board approved change seeks to gain control over this difficult situation. Owner input is welcome over whether this change should be permanent or temporary.

The change will be implemented once the supplies needed to properly sign and mark this area are sourced and installed. Please stay tuned for future updates.
