Bicycles & E-Bikes

Bicycles

The multi-use pathway along Western Lake Drive is designed for bicycles and pedestrians. Share the road—never ride more than two abreast, and give right-of-way to pedestrians.

All bicyclists must obey traffic laws when riding on the street. Florida law requires children under 16 years old to wear helmets while riding a bicycle, and all bikes must be equipped with a headlight when riding at night. Bicycles must be dismounted and walked across the Western Lake Bridge when pedestrians are present.

Bikes & bike trailers must be stored appropriately in racks or otherwise secured on private property. Bicycles must be placed in bike racks and cannot be secured to trees when stowed in common areas.

Pedal Assisted Bikes

In addition to the bicycle rules above, please be aware that only pedal-assisted electric bikes are allowed in the community. Electric bikes are NOT allowed on any of WaterColor's nature trails or bridges. Florida State Law prohibits children under 16 from operating or riding an electric bicycle.
